Ryouchi set down his gear by a tree a few miles away from the great waterfall at the Valley of the End. He stood for a moment gazing at the beauty of the falls and the enormous statues of Madara and Hashirama. Truly breathtaking he thought to himself as he let out some smoke from his mouth and then sat down. He made himself some tea and snacked on some sushi. He paused for a moment.
He turned to his students, "Most genin don't venture out this from home. Not this early at least. Can anyone tell me about the significance of the statues and this valley?" He asked wondering if their ninja history covered this area. It was an important place to know about, some very important event s that shaped their village's history happened here.

Dashe stood by the edge peering out at the small lake below then up at the great waterfall between the statues of Madara Uchiha and the first hokage. "This was where the First Hokage fought and defeated Madara Uchiha," Dashe replied without turning around now. It was also what shaped the village into what it was today. The Hidden Village in the leaf could've been something else had Madara Uchiha been victorious. It was hard to believe that guy was still alive after so long and threatened the whole world. It seemed like no one could stop him and war was on the horizon which the whole ninja world would be sucked into. He then turned around to face his sensei and the rest of his team now. He was curious to see what they would say about this place.

Ren was glad for the boys kind words of luck for her extended training. She noticed that they were going out farther out and away from the village which was something she had never done. Finally the sound of a waterfall and the sight of the large statues. It amazed her to see it all.
She then looked up and listened to her sensei ask what was important about this place here. She then looked over at Dashe who answered, nodding slowly in agreement. "Also didn't their power create this valley?" Ren tried to add, remembering the lesson that was given in the academy.

Gahh this can't be happening right now! Of all they questions Ryouchi could ask them, why did it have to be about history? Kentaru had a terrible memory, so he forgot things easily. History lessons from the Academy especially. Those lectures just went through one ear and out the other. Well this sucks, everyone else knows about this place. I'm gonna be the only one who looks like an idiot! I've gotta make something up...
"Uhh yeah," Kentaru said after a moment. "Big fight and stuff. What they said. Yeah..." This was embarrassing. He was a freaking gennin now! He should know this. Hopefully Ryouchi-sensei would elaborate on his question.

"Not only can this site be tracked back to historical significance, it is one of an important part of our lives: choice. This choice here is that of the thirst of power, and the drive for stability. I use these words instead of good and evil for a reason. Both motivations drive humanity, whether we'd like to admit or not. You genin, myself, Naruto, and even the Hokage deal with this duality. The search for power can be innocent or corrupt, this attribute is neutral as it has the capacity to create and destroy. Much like the wielder of a blade distinguishes a samurai from, say a mother chopping up meat for dinner, power is a tool. Our first hokage used his power in an attempt for peace and stability, a way of liberating his fellow man. Madara Uchiha however, saw power as a means to his own ends. He wanted the power to dominate and to oppress those who disagreed with him." Ryouchi explained as he kept staring at the falls.
"Both were brilliant men, knowledge in itself is one of the most powerful weapons of all. Hashirama however used his knowledge to protect others while Madara selfishly used it for his own ends. Knowledge is meant to be shared as it unifies us all. In fact, power is how this valley was formed. If you look closely, this valley is not naturally formed. Their powerful jutsu is what caused this landscape. Madara is the one who had summoned the nine tailed demon and used it as a weapon. It's mighty tails smashed with such intensity that this valley was forged. Despite Hashirama being seemingly outmatched, it was his determination to save his people that won the fight. Love, that is the ultimate power, not greed and hatred." He stared intently at his pupils now, making sure that they understood the importance of his message.
"Love is what has protected us through our hardships in this village. The fourth hokage loved the village so much that he sacrificed his life and an eternity in heaven to cage the Nine tailed beast. He had loved his son so much that when he planted the beast inside of him, it was to give him power. Power to help his land in the same way he did. He wanted the child to be seen as a hero, and many years of persecution later, Naruto has become a savior of sorts. Our third hokage also had a similar fate when trying to eliminate Orochimaru. If you understand, effort, practice, selflessness, and love be it friendship, romance, or love of life, you will be as great as these people. Maybe even more." Ryouchi said, expressing what he felt from the bottom of his heart. He then sat down and let out some smoke through his nose.
"Now enough chatting! Let's get down to business! On my mark both Ryoichi and Dashe are ready to take the obstacle course. The waterfall is about 112 feet high and the speed of the flow is 45 miles per hour at the moment. Your lucky we aren't in storm season. Technically, you only have to get up to the statues top to then proceed to the forest jumping. Do not touch the floor or you are disqualified. No need to worry, I will send out a clone to catch either of you should you fall and plummet towards an imminent demise. However, If I have to do this, than you're out. You must complete the course in order to have succeeded and only if I find your time satisfactory. Now go as I teach Ren!"

Dashe simply nodded throughout Ryouchi's speech about the history of this valley. He knew the whole story unlike his teammates he just didn't wanna show off and seem too nerdy. That usually turned most girls off and he didn't want to do that to Ren his own teammate. He listened on more as Ryouchi explained the course again they would have to take while Ren remained behind training with their sensei. "Sounds simple enough Ryouchi sensei," Dashe replied with a serious expression and quick nod. He would do his best to impress his sensei and not lose horribly to his teammate Kentaru. "I'm ready whenever Kentaru is. Whoever wins no hard feelings right. We're teammates so we should praise each other no matter what!"

Ren chuckled slightly at Kentaru's answer, if she remembered it always seemed like he was on a different world when lessons like these were presented to the class. She then looked back over at Ryouchi as he gave his spill over the area that they were at. Choices and power, those were things her brother would talk to her about, as if he were hinting to something that was about to happen to their family and the affects it would do. Ren wasn't too sure to what Daitaro meant, but she would find out soon. Ren then smiled lightly to the words of love, he was right to her, love is the ultimate power out there.
Ren's eyes then slightly widened up to hear about how tall and powerful the waterfall was and impressed that the boys would do this unlike her. She sighed lightly as she would move on to learn more from her sensei. Ren looked over at Dashe as he was getting ready for the challenge and then over to Kentaru to see his response.

Kenta listened intently to Ryouchi-sensei's speech about the valley and the fight between Madara and the First Hokage. It was really amazing that their battle had created the land that they were standing on. Now that he had seen the Valley of the End in person and the heard the story behind it, he wouldn't forget the lesson this time.
When Ryouchi explained the challenge before them, a small sense of doubt crossed his mind. He had never tried anything like this before. Forty-five mile per hour water falling from the top of a cliff that had to be at least a hundred feet tall, probably larger. It was daunting, but Kentaru swallowed his fear and imagined his little brother, Akira, in danger at the top of the statue. His doubt washed away and was replaced with a fierce determination to succeed. I will do this.
Kentaru nodded at Dashe with a large grin on his face. "'Course not, man. We're Team Ryouchi now!" He then looked over to Ren and gave her a wink. "You'll be kicking both our asses at this soon enough, Ren."

Ryouchi made a clone of himself to follow the two boys as they raced to the waterfall. The real Ryouchi walked towards a tree and walked up it to the top. He motioned for Ren to try to do the same. The tree wasn't too high up so he felt this would be a good place to begin. He had already explained the basics of doing this exercise. She had to concentrate her chakra to her feet in a way as to grip the tree's side as she walked up vertically. This exercise was about controlling chakra flow and maintaining energy as she walked upwards. She almost had done this correctly back when they met at the school grounds. Now Ren had to master it.

Dashe flashed a cheey grin and thumbs up at Ren. He then smiled and nodded at Kentaru. Seeing Ryouchi sensei make a clone now to follow them he nodded at Kentaru before jumping over the edge and running down towards the water. He then stepped onto the water carefully before sprinting towards the waterfall again. He occasionally looked back to see how close Kentaru was before looking forward again. Once he reached the waterfall he cautiously jumped up onto it and concentrated his footing before trying to run up the falling water now. He had to keep his momentum going or else he'd be too slow and get dragged back down to the bottom. Ryouchi would save him but then he'd fail and he'd be ashamed and embarrassed if he failed now. With a determined look on his face now he pressed on and finally reached the top of the waterfall. He then jumped between the statues and landed on top of the First Hokage. He then paused to glance down at the forest plotting out a route back towards Ren-chan and Ryouchi-sensei. He then smiled and jumped down into the forest landing on a branch before pressing onwards again.

Ren followed Ryouchi until he seemed to have found the perfect tree. He then started to walk up without saying a word this time, so she silently watched him, many things buzzing trough her mind. One thing that went by is that it's just to concentrate and not get too excited like she did back at the academy when she first did this. Ren then nodded when a motioned for her to do the same things. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath and started to walk. When her feet first touched, she slowly opened her eyes and followed with the next foot. She wobbled around for a moment but caught on and walked up to the first branch she found and stood there.
She looked up at her teacher and smiled, waving around the victory sign.

Kenta took off with Dashe, pausing for a moment to concentrate his chakra to his feet at the waters edge. The water is falling at forty-five miles per hour, that means I have to at least match its speed if I want to ever reach the top. He sprinted across the surface, gaining as much speed as he could before he reached the steep incline. There was no doubt in his mind that he wouldn't succeed in this test of strength. He would complete it.
Kentaru tore up the waterfall at an alarming pace. He didn't look back once, he kept his eyes on his destination, all the while picturing his little brother at the top waiting to be rescued. He closed his eyes and used every bit of his strength to push himself onward. Kenta was surprised to find himself at the top the statue of the First Hokage only a moment later; he didn't know he could even go that fast.
Kentaru looked over his shoulder to see if he was ahead of Dashe. No luck. He looked ahead to see him jumping into the trees. Wasting no more time, Kenta followed suit and leaped into the foliage after his teammate. "Oi, Dashe! You aren't going to wait for me?" he shouted with a laugh.

Ryouchi nodded so as to show approval of Ren's accomplishment. Now she had to get to the very top. She had to not fall during this as well. Afterwards, he would have her run up the tree to be sure that she had excellent chakra control when at top speed. Afterwards he would teach her to run on water.
Ryouchi's clone followed closely behind the two boys. He had to be sure that they didn't get themselves hurt. He outran the two and already arrived at the water fall.He waited at the bottom so that he could catch one of the boys should they fall. He'd be surprised if they managed to get through the course on the first try. Even if they did, he was sure that they wouldn't be able to come close to his record as a genin.

Dashe looked back to see Kentaru close behind him. The guy was pretty fast himself. They were so close to the finish now. "It's a race remember Kenta. I'm not gonna give up that easily. You'll have to just try harder than me!" He smiled sheepishly pressing on now. He wasn't bragging now he was just offering advice. He would look back again not noticing that he had nearly missed the branch tripping on it. He would begin to fall only to grab a branch and propel him back upwards to the higher branchs. That had no doubt slowed him down as he noticed he was neck to neck with Kentaru now. The finish line was close hard to tell who would get there first. No matter who won he'd congratualte his teammate on a job well done.

Dashe was just ahead, Kenta could almost reach out and touch him. If only he could go a little bit faster. Suddenly, the boy in the lead lost his footing. This was his opportunity to pull ahead!
Kenta paused, that would be wrong. As he passed by Dashe, he reached down to pull him up, an action that proved to be useless. The boy was able to grab hold of a branch and propel himself up higher into the trees. Damn!
Kentaru wasted no more time; he took off at full speed. Luckily, Dashe hadn't gotten ahead. The two were matched in speed and the winner was going be hard to determine. Kenta pushed on, ignoring the pain in his legs and the burning in his lungs. This was a test to prove himself, and he wasn't going to give up. No matter how much it hurt.
