Shadows danced in the fading light as the warm summer day ends. Small crickets creaked and the sound of splashing was audible in the small glade. A child’s happy laughter and a cheerful whoop of joy fallowed the splash. Kimiko disappeared under the water and then resurfaced her damp hair plastered to her head. The pool wasn’t very deep it was about five feet deep in the middle, it was fed by a little burbling spring and it was cold. The girl shifted to a sitting position on the sandy side of the pool and took on a serous expression tucking a stray strand of her white hair behind her right hair. She had to think and didn’t need to be distracted by her hair blowing around in the wind. On the upper part of her right arm there was a mark which seemed to be a scar or tattoo. It was a brown in color and stood out on her pale skin.

She was only seven but she had a serous decision to make that would decide her future. Did she want to be a Ninja as was expected of her by her brother and Grandparents or did she not? It was a question that had been bothering her for weeks. She kept away from her home because she didn’t want them to be disappointed with her decision though they said that they would except whatever she chose, how could she do anything that would upset them. How could she believe that they would really be okay with her choice? “On the one hand I would be able to help my brother and the village on the other I would be expected to hurt other people or train others to hurt them. While on the other side I would be free but without the protection of the village and I don’t think I could protect myself. I’ve heard that ninja go after people who leave without leave if they have secret s and have to do what they’re told even if they don’t want to. Maybe Josei would be forced to hunt me. I wouldn’t want that at all.” A frown creased her face and she stared down at the water with a sad look in her eyes. She didn’t know what to do and she couldn’t even ask her brother for help as he had said it had to be her own decision and no one else’s. He had said she had to do what was right for her and she was trying but it was so hard, why did the choices that matter have to be so hard. She thought with a sigh of disappointment that she was supposed to give her grandfather her answer in two days and she was nowhere near making a choice she would have to live with the consequences of for the rest of her life.

Absentmindedly the girl splashed the water with her hand not really seeing it her mind far away in happier times. The days when she played tag with her brother and the older children of the village and when she helped her grandparent run the forge, easy care free days when she talked for hours with the voice in her head and never knew fear or worries or pain which she was with him.

[Hyuuga Neji]

After the long trip to Shimagakure and purging it of the stains left, Neji had made for his way back home. However this was a long trip as he had to take a ship back towards Kumogakure. A land full of enemies that would like nothing more than to have the ANBU Captain's head on their plate it didn't happen today as Neji made his way to the Minor Village of Takigakure.

The river was a nice way to travel through the village, as it was just along the way to Konogakure but the ANBU saw a small girl playing in the water it seemed, Neji did not need to be home until the next day so taking a short detour wouldn't matter as he dropped the back pack by a tree and moved towards the water when he stopped suddenly, sweat falling down his forehead.

Chomei, the Tailed beast was inside of this girl, his eyes picked it up right away. Quickly he regained himself and moved forward. "Hello. How are you today?" He asked placing the ANBU mask on the ground. She was a child, no need to hide his identity.

Kimiko turned quickly whirling around as she heard someone speak to her. Her hair lifted up as she turned and then settled back in place. She ducked lower into the water somewhat afraid when she saw someone who she didn’t know nearby but still she was politely raised. She greeted him cordially. “Hello, sir. I’m very well. How are you?” She smiled shyly up at him from her seated position. “You’re tall.” She giggled slightly and tilted her head to the side. “Are you a ninja, sir? Do you like being a ninja? Is it very hard to deal with?What kind of ninja are you?” She didn't know who this man was but he wasn't being overtly threatening thus far so she wasn't inclined to run away she was having fun and trying to think. “Sir, your eyes.” She paused trying to decide whether or not to finish the sentence and decided that she should. “They are white like my hair. Why is that? Can you see?” She blushed looked embarrassed at her own rudeness and hoped her wouldn't be angry or hurt her for it.

[Hyuuga Neji]

This girl had a rare quality, kindness. Something that the ANBU Captain saw less and less of everyday. She was polite with how she asked if he was ok. "I'm doing fairly well. Nothing worth mentioning." Mainly because he could not. His secrets were too die with him along with the ANBU but that was neither here nor there. He did not think that this girl would want to hear them anyway.

A couple of questions were shot his way about being a shinobi and if he enjoyed it. "I have been a shinobi for well over 15 years now. I have always been there for my village so I cannot say I don't enjoy it. Although it is hard at times, decisions you have to make for the sake of your village but at the end of the day. You don't doubt what you did on your mission. I can tell you that much." The smile was painted on Neji's face for the girl to know he was not lying.

Then she began to question his eyes and sight. "Yes I can see, perhaps better than most. It's called Byaukgan, it's the ability of my clan. It allows me to see the chakra points on a body and the chakra inside of a body. Such as yours."
