-Grunt!-
Yukito's battle grunt was most noise he could make if he ever practrised his chakra-enhanced taijutsu attacks. The Jounin, with his ANBU uniform missing that day, decided to take it upon himself to practise this unused sty le of his. Back then, he remembered how weak his taijutsu was, especially when he battled that rogue ninja in the forest as a Chuunin. It was then that one of his medic companions, who he even considered a mentor sometimes, Sakura gave him lessons on her taijutsu specialty. It was that strength that she relied on attack-wise, and being that she mainly relied on it, she was more than proficient at using it. Even now as an ANBU, he realises that he does not engage in much taijutsu, and so to be more well-versed, he re-engaged his training.
He decided to travel to Sunagakure, and use their training grounds outside the Village which were mostly made out of sand and boulders, so he could feel free to not hold back anything. With his white cloak on to help shield his mouth from the slight sandstorm. With his fingerless gloves stretched on tight, he crakced his knuckles, abd with his chakra focused in his limbs, he practised his jumps into the air while descending, aiming and punching the sandy surface with an earth-trembling effect to form a crater in the ground - creating a sand pit with the area around the hole distorted. After each try, Yukito would stretch out his glove again, re-crack his knuckles and go at it again. -Grunt!

The sand didn't bother as much as she had thought. Maybe that was because she had dressed wisely and the half mask she now wore was shielding her mouth from all the wind traveling sand. Sure it had been a weird idea when she decided to go there. Yukito was making great progress towards his Taijutsu and she felt proud of him. He was one of the rare ones that could take what she dished out and he never complained or made her feel stupid for taking him on. She smiled to herself as the sand played around her. She liked this it was calm and gave her time to think about all that had happened. She began humming to herself.
She felt a familiar chakra and she smiled as she got closer. Since she had admitted defeat to Alessa in the battle for Sasuke's heart, it had gotten easier to let go of the crush. It had become a new thing for Sakura to not be interested in anyone and it had transformed her in many ways. Sure she was still sad that she had never had a relationship it didn't stop her from pushing the boundaries of what or who she could be or do. She laughed as she thought about how much a like she had become to her mentor. She was sure she was going to be teased about it but hey she was too happy and proud of her accomplishments. She got closer and smiled as she watched him.

He squinted his eyes as his face piece of the cloak shielded some of his eyes, and all of his mouth. Either way, he was witnessesing the fruits of his labor observing the many sandpits he was impronting. Luckily, the sandstorm would take care of them, along with some help from Yukito after he covered some of them partially to get rid of the obvious hole sightings. Though, he wouldn't be doing that until he was good and satisfied with his training that day. He soon started to practise using hie legs now to hit on the sand, and form deeper holes - the deeper the hole, the stronger the impact of his attack.
He would wipe his brow of any sweat or sand that stuck oin his face before going again; short grunt and grunt upon impact. He just wasn't like Sakura who gave it her all in attack and vocals, but unlike her, this wasn't a primary form of attack. Plus, he wasn't about trying to be likea anyone else exactly - like how his first meeting with his Genin turned out. Yukito even moved to combine his Body Flicker technique with his superhuman strength as he disappeared for one second before to deliver the blow, so he can confuse his opponents. After one more foot thrust, he stopped to catch his breath, while also picking up the presence of someone.
He looked up to see a familiar stature of a female: Sakura's pink hair was fluttering slightly in the sandy air as she looked over at him. He just instantly was conscious of her watching, both as a mentor and just,.. it being her. He started to walk over from his private battlefield to reach her. "Sakura-chan.... what brings you out here? ...are you on a mission? .. or is something wrong?" Yukito expressed genuine concern for her presence - he assumed that something was up that she came to him for at first.

She smiled as the sand whipped around her and for some reason she was so content and happy. Funny how she felt this way and how her heart had or was starting to be whole again. She wondered what had triggered this but decided it was something that she would keep a mystery at least until she felt she was ready. She laughed again as she realized that she was actually glad to be here. Oh that was new for her. Usually she had mixed feelings but not now. She felt renewed in a way.
When Yukito came towards her, she realized that she had worried him and she grinned sheepishly. She should have known that her appearance would bring up some type of worry. Oh well, she was there because she wanted to be. Funny that made her wonder why. After all the sand was whipping around them and she had just walk the long way there. She shrugged it off. She was always happy to be around her friends.
She smiled at him and she shook her head."No everything is fine, Yukito-Kun, I actually have no idea why I'm here. I just started walking and here I am. I guess it is nothing to question." She said as she tried to calm him. She really had no idea why she was here but she didn't care.

Watching Sakura grinning sheepishly was admitted a little weird, because he was so use to seeing her confident, and sometimes instructive as she use to train him in learning taijutsu in the beginning, and medical techniques. Now lately, he would see her in a different way, but he didn’t know how to explain it himself, which was new to him. Right then, all he started to feel was a little twitch of pain from his knuckles; the training was starting to kick in – even know he was using his chakra to impact bigger blows, it was affected him physically, but he ignored it. He merely cracked his knuckles as he talked to Sakura.
”Does Tsunade-sama know you have free time on your hands? Maybe I should let her know.” Yukito’s humour wasn’t for everyone, especially since he didn’t make his sense of humour obvious by laughing. He would chuckle and shrug a little to show off his joking manner, but he just lost his enthusiasm to show a zest for life like the happy-go-lucky youth. ”What do you think of my taijutsu form? I haven’t put it to good practice lately, so I’m working on it out here.”

Sakura smiled as he said this. Did Tsunade-Sama know? Well if she did she certainly didn’t say so earlier. She smiled as she threw her head back with a laugh. She giggled and wondered why it was so funny to her. Perhaps it was because her mentor shared the same traits as she did and the same humour of course she thought about if it had been Naruto and she laughed even harder.“Yes, I like it a lot, you sure have done a lot better. As for the other question: Not that I’m aware of.” She said when she stopped laughing. She tilted her head as he cracked his knuckles. She wondered if he was in much pain but chose to not say anything. After all it might embarrass him.
Well that was new being mindful of what she said to him. She wondered where it came from and she found herself lost in thought. Her thoughts began traveling back to when she was but a child and all the teasing had begun, Ino was there trying to cheer her up then it morphed to their battle at The Chuuin exams and the impending tie that followed. Naruto was next in her mind and she saw him progress from child claiming he’d be Hokage to present Hokage but that also made Sasuke and her beloved Sensei come forward. She didn’t realize but she had started crying.

Sometimes seeing Sakura like that was somewhat of a treat to Yukito: days when she looks responsible and solely in control of her responsibilities and maybe even her destiny, days when she lets it go and just lets it loose – even on Naruto when he pisses her off. Losing control like that, but at the same time, keeping it together in her power. Other times, she may be vulnerable that she shares advice, and laughs, but just like any human, she gets weak, and may lose her way. Yukito suddenly just got thinking about Sakura’s different moods, but when she spoke, he tried to stop instantly to pick up on her words. She praised him for his progress, and he was glad to hear it. If anyone could tell him that his strength and form was improving for it to mean something to Yukito, it had to be from Tsunade-sama herself, or her student, Sakura. It felt good to be commented, but for himself, he wanted to push it further.
A part of him wanted to continue training, and pushing himself for another level of his ‘superhuman strength’ , but all of a sudden, Sakura started to cry – something that he never really saw for himself up til this point. It was strange, let alone surprising, and it just threw him off-guard. His eyes widened slightly, and all he could move to do was reach out, and hold her hands while looking at her. ”Hey..... you’re gonna be ok.” That was all he could think of saying to let her know that she was gonna be fine, at least he wanted her to be if he could have made that happen. Vulnerability was not so much out of his range either – he just knew how to cope with it in his own way.

Letting it out there like this was both a risk and a blessing since she had never broken down in front of Yukito before. However it had to happen sometime and this was better than the whole world seeing her cry. She managed a tearful smile as he reached out and clasped her hands in his. She managed another smile as she thought about how her truest friends never cared if she was strong or weak. To them she was Sakura and she loved them for it.
"Usually I'm the one to say that but you are right Yukito-Kun."She said as she squeezed his hands. "So how come a great guy like you is still single?" She asked bluntly and didn't care since it was just them and they were close enough that those kinds of questions could be asked and no one would feel offended or weird. That and she always was blunt and straight forward. She waited as she tilted her head away from the sand and towards him. Well he could ask her the same thing and then what? Ah it didn't matter, she could answer it truthfully and well she really didn't have that"I'm waiting for Sasuke-Kun" excuse any more.nope not anymore.

She clasped his hand tighter, and he returned the favour with an equally tight grip. That alone would assure her that she was safe in his company, and that he would be there for her. Sakura-chan was a fellow ninja that he could trust, and rely on – and he respected her on another level that he couldn’t quite explain himself. He just knew that there was a part of him that enjoyed her company, and her being by his side even when on the training grounds, the medic scene or the battlefield. As he tightened his grip, a part of him just wanted to sit down now next to the kunoichi instead of training more for now. He made the motion with his hand still holding Sakura’s.
”You may say it..but it stands for you too,” he responded to her statement, but then her next statement caught him even more by surprise than with her sudden breakdown. Heaven knows that it wasn’t a topic that was usually discussed between the two, and it was an area that Yukito was not too much of a fan of for discussion. Really, it was because he never thought about it. That kind of thing never got his attention, or did he see it as a necessity. With this crazy world of theirs, there were a lot more important things to focus on, but he did know that all humans would tend to want love in their lives whether sooner or later. He sighed as he kept his hand cupping Sakura’s, ”I never thought to pursue it. It just…never spoke to me, I guess..”

Sakura smiled as she kept both of his hands in hers as she began to calm down. It had been awhile since someone had seen her lose it and she was glad that she was safe with Yukito there. She didn't know why but she felt great and a lot better than she had in a long time. Maybe it was because she was getting close to him and she really treasured their friendship.
She grinned at him as he said what she had thought he would say and she sighed sadly. "I had someone in my heart but he never felt that way about me and now he is married and with kids on the way."She said as she went a bit pink at the memory. "I can respect that, love does many things that baffle everyone." She added as she smiled at him.

He wanted her to feel safe; it was just a natural feeling – he didn’t give it any thought or question. For Yukito, action would certainly speak more than words. As he cupped his friend’s hands, he merely stared down at them without much on the brain. He just relaxed as he did it. Even if he wanted to analyze this instance though, he really couldn’t. Maybe it was friendship. Maybe it was closeness. What more could he ask from what? What more indeed. Yukito looked up from their hands and watched as Sakura smiled at him. However, she then turned to respond to his earlier query, and turned slightly pink from it.
He sighed and watched her. He really wasn’t sure how to respond to it. ”Yeah….. that’s life for you. I ……. I believe you’ll be fine..” Damn, no one could make him speechless like this on purpose.

Sakura smiled as she realized she had said a lot and that it was personal and probably unnerving for him.She noticed how he was staring at her hands and she thought it was endearing and calming. What was going on?! Usually she didn't feel this close with someone unless she had grown up with them."Yes that is life, oh I'll be fine. Thanks for believing in me. Cat got your tongue?"She said then grinned as she teased him.
She laughed as she felt a lot better and she gazed down at their hands and she smiled as she thought about her childhood and how she had never thought she was beautiful or wanted. Man how time and maturity changed things. Oh and a great family of friends.
