PERSONALITY:Akasha is a fairly simple man, at least upon first glance. He approaches most situations with a big grin and a joke or sarcastic quip. In his free time, he goes to public places, often trying his hand at impressing people despite being no more skilled than the average chuunin. Most especially, he liked to try his hand at impressing the various women around town, kunoichi especially. His boasts of prowess, more often than not, end in failure. His attempts at seduction fail even more so.
On a mission, his demeanor becomes slightly more professional, though his upbeat nature always shines though. Even in the darkest of times, Akasha can be counted on to try and help others crack a smile.
Despite his nature, he is actually a fairly capable ninja. When the time to fight seriously comes, his use of taijutsu is surprisingly brutal and quick. While he by no means enjoys killing others, he fully understand the necessity of doing so for the benefit of those he wishes to protect, and can do so without hesitation. He usually leaves that kind of dirty work to others though, tending to rely on his ability to keep morale high and keep everyone else on the right track to their goal.

Bladed Grappling Hook
SIZE: Small
WEIGHT: 6 pounds/light
DESCRIPTION: A fairly large grappling hook, designed to be able to dig it’s blades into wood or other easily pierced materials.
EFFECT: It can be used offensively to slash at, and grab/pull at a target.
SIDE EFFECT: Due to it’s size and nature, the grappling hook isn’t very likely to harm any ninja worth their salt, though it’s main application is largely either for motion to to supplement another technique.
FIGHTING STYLE:Akasha is a very up close and personal fighter. His use of Taijutsu comes into every fight, using his grappling hook to launch himself around, and sometimes directly at, his opponents. He also has multiple genjutsu to confuse the more annoying enemies, as well as a few techniques made to stop them in their tracks.
For the most part, he sticks to Taijutsu, and will tend to fight honorably if his opponent does similar. Otherwise, he’s a wildcard in combat, running, leaping, and sometimes shooting around like a bullet. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, but that’s no reason to underestimate him. While he’s by far not the greatest fighter around, he’s more than capable in most fights.

HISTORY:Akasha was raised in a civilian home, his parents owning a small bookstore in the city. At the time, it was a quiet life, and the young boy had not yet gained any ambition to join the ninja academy, instead gaining a more traditional homeschooling from his parents. He spent a lot of time reading, or helping to tend the store when he grew old enough. His father ran the shop with a smile, and enjoyed making his customers feel welcome. It was a trait Akasha seemed to have ingrained as well, always helping to make even the most serious of those who came by crack a smirk.
Things changed quickly however, as one evening the store was broken into, and before anyone even knew what had happened, his father lay dead in a pool of blood, no sign of any killer other than a single missing book from the store. In the coming days, Akasha was outraged at what had happened, and demanded to be allowed to help find his fathers killer. He was denied his request, being told that only shinobi were allowed to work on such things, and he would simply get in the way.
It was at this time he made the decision to change the course of his life, and join the ninja academy. He was already slightly older than most of the students, but after a few attempts, he was granted access. He found himself quite at home in the academy, taking to physical training and sparring quite well. He found himself becoming a bit of a lone wolf for a short time, until it came time to practice true Ninjutsu. Chakra control came less naturally to him than Taijutsu, and he found himself listening in on the techniques of the other students.
Over time, he began to loosen up, as the rage began to subside, being replaced by feelings of ambition to succeed in his training, and to graduate and become a Genin. He found it in him to swallow his pride, and ask for help, from both his sensei and fellow students. For the most part, they were more than happy to help him learn, glad that he knew when it was time to stop working on his own. In return, he helped the other students with their taijutsu, learning to effectively give and take punishment.
Even to his own surprise, he passed the Genin exam with flying colors, and was put into Team 12 of Iwagakure. He began to find himself working hard as a ninja simply because he enjoyed it, rather than for his revenge. However, despite his decent taijutsu skill, he quickly found the others were beginning to surpass him with their own techniques. He was not sure how to keep up, as he was still the weakest in terms of chakra usage and Ninjutsu.
He worked towards mastery of his taijutsu style, though without any kind of special techniques, his opponents easily dodged him, or worse, reversed his moves against him. In desperation, he tried to learn the Great Fireball technique, though found himself burning his face more than anything.
It wasn’t until his first C-Ranked mission that he found his true strength, as the group was called to look into a robbery where the thief seemed to leave no trace. Akasha found himself able to see through the tricks the thief had left behind, able to spot and see through his Genjutsu better than any of the Genin on his team.
Upon finding this new strength, he took to learning as many simple Genjutsu as he could get a hold of, as well as beginning work on a technique he could call all his own. He wanted to become a master of spotting deception wherever it tried to hide, and began working on a jutsu which would help him in future investigations.
The first time he tried the chuunin exams were an absolute embrassment. He did just fine during the first portion of the exam, but found himself relying on his group entirely through the second, barely able to offer any help. On the final portion of the exam, he was matched up against an extremely powerful Genin from the Sand. Going into the fight with a grin, he attempted his favorite move, the Dynamic Entry. Unfortunately, the Genin caught him in midair, and proceeded to slam him into the wall, sending him into unconsciousness. He failed the exam, and was stuck as a Genin for such a laughable performance.
The rest of his team seemed to do fine however, both being promoted to Chuunin ahead of him, and leaving him on his own.
At this point, he slowed down his training and practice to a crawl, severely doubting his skill as a ninja. It was two years before he attempted the exam again, this time knowing what he was getting into. He performed much better on the second test of the exam, but found himself unwilling to continue into the third. He was smart enough, sure, but his skills were no match for most of the others... until he was hit by a stroke of brilliance. While practicing, he devised a way to move as quickly as any master ninja, as well as open up an entirely new way to fight.
He bought a long bungee cord, and attached it to a basic grappling hook, and spent the next several days zipping himself around the training areas. Using this new method, he was much faster, and his attacks done from this were much more powerful.
He entered the final test with his inner fire restored, and the knowledge that he could prove himself to be just as tough as any ninja. As he entered the arena again, he could hear laughter from the crowd, which wasn’t exactly the motivation he wanted right then. But, it wasn’t long before he proved that he was different than before. He used everything he had, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, and his new weapon to his advantage. It was close, but finally he managed to wrap his grappling hook around his opponent, and used it’s force to perform the Dynamic Entry once again, only now at a speed almost too fast for most to see, causing him to later give it the title of ‘Lightning Entry’.
While his next match wasn’t quite as successful, he still managed to prove himself worthy of the Chuunin rank. As such, he was allowed to join up with the others who had long since gained the title, joining them on the more interesting missions.
After reaching Chuunin, he found a lot more resources available to him. For almost a full year, Akasha spent any time not on a mission, and sometimes even during, studying and practicing his new jutsu. He found that he could gain certain knowledge of items by touching them, after performing his prototype jutsu. On that track, he continued, until finally finishing the jutsu he dubbed, ‘Reveal the Past Sins’.
However, he found himself slowing down in his ninja training once more, deciding that now that he had proven his ability, it was time to finally make something of himself. His developing interest in the developing ladies didn’t help matters, and as such, he spent the next few years working less, and going out and having fun more. His tales of victory subsided beneath his goofy nature. He took the title of ‘Master of Ten-Thousand Jutsu’ as a joking boast, and though he never quit practicing or going on missions, he was beginning to be seen as little more than a fool.
He liked it that way, however. He saw the way people feared the powerful ninja of the city, and wanted to be seen as someone who could be more than just a killer.
