Hunter doesn't make friends easily since it is hard to get him away from training all the time. It takes time before he get to know you good enough to want to take time from training to hang out with you. Though once he gets to know you it take little to nothing for him to leave training and hang out with friends. Though once friends he will be loyal and use all he has to make sure you are protected and alive.

Unlike friendship it isn't hard at all for him to think of you as a enemy and not a friend. The major reasons he will see you as a enemy are disrespectful toward shinobi unless you are his sister, wanting to harm his family or people he cares about, and ruining the safety of the hidden mist village. More or less do anything that would ruin his lifestyle then you are a enemy.

Romance is a difficult subject for Hunter in the degree that he is shy and secretive when it comes to romance. Sure he liked girls but are shy around them the same goes for guys though liking guys is still settling in. All in all romance is up in the air for Hunter and open to any possibility.

Masumi social skills when it come to making friends are a little awkward and underdeveloped. Most of her life it has been focused on training so friends is something she doesn't have many of. Though her free and upbeat spirit is easy to get along with. If your desire is to be her friend then you will have to put up with her nervousness until she get pass the initial awkwardness.

If you think becoming her friend is hard then you won't believe how impossible becoming her boyfriend or girlfriend will be. Becoming her enemy is much easier than becoming her friend or a possible love interest. Go against her morals or challenge them then she will stand up and fight. Masumi hates gaining enemies but part of being a kunoichi is learning that you are gonna gain enemies most of your life. Basically challenge her morals, threaten her friends and family, and her village is what you must do for her to consider you or enemy.
