Roronora listened to Maria’s story. “Quite the tale indeed.” Roronora was used to seeing wounds and scars, but even hers was a doozy. “Must have been painful as hell.” He stood up and stretched he could hear the crackling of the large paper bag Ken was carrying. “The food’s here.” He said a moment before Ken appeared. “Good girl.” He said rubbing her head and taking the bag from her. She licked his hand before going and resting next to Kage. “Ladies dinner is served.” He took out the container and them out. He popped his open releasing a puff of steam. “Ahhh that’s the best smell in the world, nothing like a well cooked meal.” He dug into the rice with gusto. “So you’ve done you share of traveling hunh, sounds like Dashe to me. He’s a friend of mine, best guy you’ll ever meet.” He said taking a sip of his sake. “He’ll be my best man at the wedding.” He took a several more bites of the rice enjoying the tender bits of meat, and the well cooked rice. Roronora was filled with an intense rage at the thought of someone hurting Shiva, and on some level he was grateful to Sindel for murdering the man. “As different as night is from day.”

Maria would show shock and surprise thought it was fake. Roronora had already told her earlier but to keep her sister happy and not have her made at her partner she would fake it. "Congratulations on your pregnancy then dear sister. I pray to Kami it goes smoothly and without fault." She would reply moving to hug Shiva now feeling her return the embrace. She couldn't relate to her pain then again she was her sister she didn't need a reason to. They shared a bond by blood even if she was just her half sister. "The arm one was actually the less painful one but it put me out for a month for rehabilitation. The one on my navel area was more painful but only put me out a week. They say i'll still have children someday." That seemed to put Shiva at ease as she released her now patting her a little on the back now. Someday her and Roronora would be an uncle and aunt so they need not worry.
"Well that was fast then." Maria would say looking to see Ken return with a bag now. Silvia's head would pop at the smell. Then seeing Maria and her master follow the man into another room she would get up to follow them. Shiva would take a seat as she was handed her soup and salad now. Maria would take hers sitting across from Shiva at a table now. Silvia would yip at Shiva trying to get her attention now wanting some. Shiva would look to Roronora now trying to inquire what to feed her now after he was finished talking about Dashe. "Now this is some good stuff. I eat too much of this and I'm bound to get addicted to it." Maria would reply a sheepish smile on her face now as she made a gesture she wanted some Sake. Shiva would just pout knowing she couldn't have any.

"Thank you sis and I pray it does too." She could only hope it was normal but you never know. There was no preparing for the unexpected. All she could do was try to take precautions and be safe. Roronora already had that covered so she was just taking things easy cutting back on the time she trained and how much chakra she used. She had quit smoking altogether and cut back on the alcohol. "I'm glad you're alright Maria." Shiva would say rubbing one of Maria's shoulders gently now. She would look up when she heard a noise and looked to Roronora as he announced Ken had returned. Then she would see Ken appear with a bag in her mouth. "That has to be a record." Shiva would say following Ken and Roronora into another room. She would take a seat at a table taking the container labeled for her looking up to see Marianisa take a seat across from her taking her own container now. "Trust me nothing else will ever be as good I think Roronora likes it more than my cooking." She would say smiling sheepishly knowing he'd probably deny it but she didn't mind. Long as he was fed and happy then she was too she would say as she dug into her soup and salad now.

Roronora had been worried if Maria could pull off fake enthusiasm. She seemed so straight-laced, but her acting was superb. Roronora nodded. “Boring as hell hunh?” He’d been laid out for a couple weeks when a jutsu had busted his leg up pretty bad. Roronora rubbed her head. “Well that’s Ken for you she’s as fast as the wind.” He followed after the sisters into the kitchen. “Well that’s good.” He saw how happy Shiva was with her pregnancy, every time she stroked her stomach he could see her light up with joy. Roronora laughed. “Give in to the addiction, I have and so has Shiva even though she won’t admit it.” Roronora always made Saturday date night where’d they go to the Dragon for dinner. Roronora handed her a bottle of Sake, and kissed Shiva’s pouting mouth. “I feel for you babe, it’s not forever though. Your cooking’s great babe. I’m just so used to eating the Dragon’s take out. Believe it or not a home cooked meal was foreign territory until you came along.”

Maria had always been a decent actor when it came to being serious. She'd gotten so good she had fooled herself into believing the lie. She had forgotten how to open up to people and just be herself. Dating had always been disasterous for her because she kept her guard up afraid of being her real self and being rejected and when she did manage to do that she was left for not being intimate with them which she was glad to kick them to the curb for since she was not some whore who just screwed anyone who came along. She would simply nod at the boring comment she hated sitting around for too long doing nothing. Seeing Shiva constantly rub or pat her stomach would make her smile too it was good since she seemed mostly over the incident that had occured but she had read the medical file once. She'd barely been a month along when it happened. She'd been rendered unconscious for three days and spent another two on pain meds and other drugs to keep her calm.
When given the news Shiva had been forced to take some time off for about a month the whole time spent in her apartment closed off from the world. She would close her eyes now right hand starting to ball up when she was snapped from her thoughts by Roronora's comment to her as she was then handed a bottle of Sake. "Oh thank you Roronora-san and I think that ship has sailed already." She would reply giving a fake smile. Her thoughts were still on the report as she poured herself a shot of Sake now. She felt cheated that woman Sindel had gotten to the man before she had.

Shiva would admit life before Roronora she had hidden a lot of things before her walls. It was the reason they had called her the Iron Maiden. Because nothing got past her defenses she refused to let them. She would let few close to her and even those few never really knew her personal past and at the root of it all was the incident. She had sworn she would never be foolish to allow herself to fall so easily in love for a man who just looked handsome. To never fall for their sweet words of their possible future together. The man had sworn off kids and she should have known better but she had just gotten caught up in what she thought was love. He had taken her virginity and given her a greater gift in return. She'd been so excited a first time mother-to-be she had began dreaming of a family and life together with him and fooled herself into believing he would be happy. How love had blinded her back then she'd almost sworn it off. Then she met Roronora and things changed for the better.
She'd taken a chance and in return she had been given her old self back. He had given her love and so much more and she would forever be thankful for that. "It sure feels like it though." She would smile at the kiss and return to eating her salad again. To be honest news of the man's death had brought her no joy at all. She felt sorry for him and if anything she would have liked to see him with Roronora to thank him for opening her eyes and showing her to the path to her true love. Tonight as a testament of that love she would show Roronora that file when maria had gone to bed and tell him the whole story.

Something seemed to have thrown Maria into a silent rage. He noticed the clenched fist, and was glad he could snap her out of it before she did something crazy from being blinded by rage. “Bo Rai Cho taught me something when I was training with him. Believe it or not I was a very angry young man at a time.” He’d been angry at the fact his brothers had left him with his mother who ignored, or yelled at him for reminding her of his father and brother. He’d been jealous that his clan didn’t have some cool Kekkai Genkai. “He said to me. ‘Anger doesn’t fuel the soul it incinerates it. Of course I didn’t understand what the hell he meant, and that pissed me off, but in hindsight it was a good lesson.” Bo Rai Cho had given him purpose and made him feel special even without a Kekkai Genkai. “That old drunk took me through good times and bad.” He smiled at Shiva’s misfortune. “Oh don’t worry I’ll speed time up for you. These next few months will fly by.” He knew Shiva still thought about what happened to her. He sometimes heard her cry in her sleep. He wished he could take it away from her, but all he could do was comfort her, and tell her he wouldn’t leave her for anything.

Maria would remain silent looking back up as Roronora spoke to her. She would look back down as he continued taking a few bites of her meal now as he spoke of his sensei and advice he had been given once. She couldn't picture him like that unless it had to deal with her sister Shiva and someone trying to hurt her. She had been a rather bitter person after Silvia's death when she had ran away. How many nights she'd been so furious she cried herself to sleep wishing Silvia was still alive while cursing Shiva. Now she felt so bad about it wishing she could take it all back. Sure Shiva forgave her not knowing the truth but she felt she had earned her forgiveness yet and she would do whatever it took to repay her back someday. It was what Silvia would have wanted and she had to honor that by being there for Shiva now whenever she needed her. Looking at Shiva she knew the woman hide her pain well claiming she was past what happened but she knew it was a lie. She'd visited the grave she had dug for her unnamed baby. Seen all the wilted flowers she had left day after day for nearly a whole year. What tore her up the most was knowing the name Shiva had written down in a letter to home of what she was going to name the baby if it was a girl. Silvia Maria Ryuuji. Named after both her and their elder sister as a way to desperately cling onto the two sisters she had lost. She'd cried herself to sleep a good many nights for treating Shiva so bad after learning that news. She would remain silent as she drank more of her Sake now some pains just never went away no matter what one did to help ease it.

Looking at Maria she could see something was bothering her. What that might she didn't know but she wouldn't pressure Maria to talk about it. When she felt like talking about it she knew she would come to her to do so. She would look to Roronora as he spoke of some advice his drunken fist master had taught him once. She could picture him angry like that over something involving her or someone else of his clan. "Wiser words were never spoken my dear." She would reply a heartfelt smile on her face now. She smiled sheepishly at his following comment rubbing his neck a little now. "Always know how to cheer me up my dear." She would rub his back a little before turning back to finish her own meal off now. Even as happy as she was now she couldn't seem to forget what happened to her. It would forever be scarred in her mind as something she could never forget even if she wanted to. like a recurring nightmare where she travelled back in time to that day. Waking up after crying and screaming for help. She had the nightmare less nowadays but when she did it was always terrifying to relive. She had mourned the loss of the child that could have been about a year before deciding to move on. She place a hand on her stomach now and sighed lightly rubbing it a little now some pains just never went away and all she could do to cope now was to remember the happiness she now had and to cherish it above all else while never forgetting what had led her to it.

He nodded at Shiva’s comment. Bo Rai Cho may be a drunk, but his wisdom was without bounds. “It’s my solemn duty as husband to make sure my wife’s happy.” He said giving a salute. He ate the rest of his rice and sipped some of the sake. He could tell Maria was holing a lot of secrets in the dark. He hoped she could overcome her darker feelings, and prosper. She was a good woman, and he would appreciate her at Shiva’s side. Roronora didn’t know much about her previous child, but he’d seen what his brother’s death had done to his own mother he could just imagine what Shiva had gone through. He wished he could remove the pain and fear she had. He felt so helpless and weak. It brought him back to when his mother was depressed and he could do nothing for her. He knew Shiva loved their life together, but even her current happiness couldn’t drown out that terrible memory.

Maria would smile at his comment towards Shiva. Such love and devotion the two shared it was sweet. Her sister would smile and reply the same to him. She hated feeling angry like she did over what happened to her sister. Her training was supposed to have made her better than that but being like this seemed to reawaken all those feelings. "I'm sorry for being so quiet tonight. lot of things on my mind I guess. I'm really happy for you both and I wish you great happiness. I think it's best I retire for the night." She would say suddenly hardly having touched her food. Not much of an appetite after letting her anger get the best of her. She would nod and get up before heading out to find her room. She would stop in the hallway bout halfway there wrapping her arms around her waist as she tried not to cry she hated being angry but she was more angry with herself for not being there for Shiva. Maybe if she had been then it might not ever have happened. She always blamed herself for what happened after learning the news but she wouldn't tell Shiva that and further upset her.

"And it is mine to always love and support you in everything you do." Shiva would reply with a smile rubbing his shoulder a little now. She noticed Roronora was a little quiet as well during the meal more so than usual. He seemed to notice too something was off with her sister but was being polite as she was to not pressure or annoy her. Then Maria spoke and she looked to her remaining silent as she spoke. Then she moved her mouth to respond only to have Maria get up and walk out quickly. She would sigh lightly placing a hand on her stomach rubbing gently now. "I don't know what to do hun. I feel like talking to her but I don't want to bug her about what's bothering her." She would sigh again looking down now. So much for a happy afternoon the only one who seemed happy about it was Roronora. "I feel so helpless." She looked back up now placing both of her hands in her lap now. Thinking back to Roronora's advice to Maria trying to think about what she might be angry about then it hit her. "She blames herself for what happened to me. She must have found out somehow." Shiva would say now closing her eyes. She never wanted her sister to ever know about it but it seemed she had. It was her pain and hers alone to bear and she hated dragging others into it but she felt she could with Roronora knowing he wanted to support her through it.

Roronora watched Maria speak and then leave he could tell Shiva wanted to stop her, but held back. He shook his head. “She’ll come around maybe she still feels like she hasn’t really earned your forgiveness.” He wasn’t really sure what was bothering Maria, but he knew she would come around and tell Shiva. It was only a matter of time and that he was certain of. He wasn’t shocked hearing Maria had heard about it. “Nothing travels faster than bad news babe, but she’s your sister of course she feels guilty. Is it something she should feel guilty about no, but she can’t help that she does. Hell I feel guilty and angry about what happened to you, and we hadn’t even met before.” But feel guilty he did. He wished he could go back to help her, but no jutsu was that powerful. He saw Shiva close her eyes he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. “If you need to cry I’m here.” He said holding her close.

Maria would sigh how easy it would be to just bottle it all up like always and just go to bed but that would never solve the problem. Pushing off the wall she turned around and started to head back to the kitchen. Hearing Shiva and Roronora's voices she stopped and leaned against the wall by the door now. It was a relief to know he shared in her pain and guilt over what happened to her sister. That he wished he could fix spoke volumes to her. "Please don't cry because of me. I'm sorry for acting the way I did. I returned to the village once coming to see you but you were gone." Maria would say standing in the doorway leaning against it now. A sad look was on her face as she felt like crying again. "I asked around about you and well they let me in your old apartment. I found the report you'd been keeping and well I read it." She'd wanted to punch a hole in the wall but in the end she'd just broken down and sobbed. Then she'd left to inquire about the male involved and his whereabouts only to find he was deceased shortly after his assault on Shiva having left the village. "I know it's not my fault I-I just wish I could just make things right again." She would say wrapping her arms around herself now. She would always feel guilty she just had to accept that and move on from the past.

"Yeah I know she feels that way. No matter if I say I do forgive her she wont be happy until she feels she earned it herself." To be honest she had forgiven her years ago. She couldn't blame her for reacting the way she had learning of Silvia's death. She had promised Maria Silvia would come back alive and fine and she had broken that promise. Silvia had been everything to the youngest sister and losing that left a void in the woman's heart nothing not even her seemed able to fill. "Understandable I suppose that makes sense." She just wished she didn't feel bad about it. She would smile knowing he tried to comfort her and she was about to say something when she heard Maria speak. Looking up she would see her standing in the doorway leaning against the frame of it now. She would remain silent as Maria spoke revealing how she had found out about what happened to her.
Then she would get up and walk to Maria pulling her into a hug rubbing her back a little now. "The only one to blame here is myself. I was naive and young blinded by what I thought I knew love was. I got caught up in it all and I paid the price for it. I will always mourn the loss of that child that could've been but I will push on and focus on the happiness I have now. I wont dwell on the past any longer and you shouldn't either Maria." She would say releasing her sister now a smile on her face despite a few falling tears from her eyes. She would always mourn never forgetting the little life extinguished that day but she would never let it block out the happiness she had now. She was getting married soon and after that she would give birth to her partner's child and they'd be even more happy then that was all that mattered now.
