"Ha Vayne you'll never be as good as me!" Vayne would look up eyes watering now as he looked at Jade. She was always bragging when she ran into him boasting about her skills. He had only just joined the academy two days ago. She'd laugh and punch him lightly in the shoulder before running off to class. He'd snivel a little and run up his desk before sitting down and laying his head down tears running down his cheeks now. He'd show her one day. She'd see how strong he would become and then he'd show her up. Then it would be him laughing at her misfortune and rubbing it in her.
Vayne's eyes would open now and he'd find himself standing at what he had assumed was his desk once. It was the only memory of his cousin he really had. Bits and fragments of a past he no longer knew. Seeing as the academy was closed today he had figured coming here might spark something and it had given him that. His uncle had told him everything he knew but that hadn't seemed to help. He was beginning to wonder if it ever would or whether he'd remain this broken fractured person he was now. He found comfort that Takara somewhat shared his pain in all of thise having amnesia herself. It was why he felt so close to her now and loved her. It made him feel normal for a change and like he belonged.
"Mother. Father. Are you proud of me now? Did you love me?" So many questions that would never be answered now. His parents were dead as far as he knew. Would they remember him or recognize him now? He could only hope they did. He'd sigh lightly now and turn around leaving the room now. He'd head outside and walk over to the tree swing sitting down in it now placing his face in his hands now as he took a deep breath and exhaled now trying not to break down now in front of Azal or anyone else who might be around. No he had to remain strong but lately that was just so hard to do.

It was a typical day for Takara. She woke up and showered, dressed herself, had breakfast, and went out to explore the city. Because it was so large, there was always something new to find in Konoha. That day, Takara had made it her personal mission to find a way to the top of the Hokage monuments.
She had left earlier than usual in order to properly investigate the area in question. Much to her disappointment, she soon found a stairway that led all the way to the top. Despite that let down, she continued her way to the top along the winding stairs. The view at the top left her speechless; the entire village and beyond could be seen. Takara now understood why it was called The Village Hidden in the Leaves.
Takara never wanted to leave the spot, but when the wind started to pick up, she decided it was time leave. The way down was scarier than the way up had been. The stairs shook back and forth in a way that seemed they would break beneath her feet. Luckily they didn't, and she made it back to the ground safely.
Takara decided that she had had enough adventuring for the day and promptly began the walk back home. Her normal route took her through the market and other village shops, but today she chose to take the quicker way past the Academy. She almost didn't notice the lone person sitting on the swing, but she could pick out that particular head of messy black hair in even the biggest crowd.
"Vayne? Vayne, is that you?" Takara called out loud enough for him to hear. She walked around the fence and over to the swing where he was situated. For some reason she got the feeling that he wasn't his normal happy self, like something was different about him than usual. "Are you alright?"

Vayne would look up when he heard his name called out now. Glancing around he immediately spotted a familiar head of purple hair. He'd watch as she walked around the fence now before walking up to him now. At her question he smiled softly and simply nodded. "I was just reminiscing is all. Hard to believe I attended the academy here. Sad I don't remember much about any of it. Just a few days after I joined when my cousin was teasing me." He'd seemed so ignorant and childish back then like a normal kid. Looking at the memory it felt alien to him like it was someone else. Someone who had a family and friends. He had nothing but bits and fragments of his old life. Then there was Takara his girlfriend. She was the only thing he had to hold onto to keep himself sane. The only thing really worth holding onto.
"You were going to see the Hokage Monument today weren't you? Did you have fun?" He smiled softly again running a hand through his hair now. He had remembered her offering him to join her but he had been feeling a little under the weather that day and declined. He was feeling better today so he had opted for a walk to the Academy. A chance to try and reconnect with the past. He had somewhat succeeded but in the end he felt no better about it. He was in no rush and spent more of his free time helping Takara with her own problems. It felt fulfilling and it made her happier which in turn made him happier. She seemed to have a way with keeping Azal in line which was good making it less likely for him to pop up and ruin a moment between the two. He chuckled lightly at the thought before looking back up at Takara again.

The person on the swing was, indeed, Vayne - just as she had suspected. He seemed to be having one of those moments, and Takara was one of the few who actually understood. It was one of those moments when you try to remember, but then there is nothing there. It's just empty. Lonely.
"Forget about the monuments! You remembered something, didn't you?" she said excitedly, happy for this accomplishment. It wasn't every day that a person with complete amnesia regained one of their memories. She grabbed his hands with her own and looked him in the eyes with an amazed look on her face. "Tell me what happened, Vayne. What did you remember? How did you do it? Maybe this is your big break through!"
Takara didn't really take a moment to think of the type of memory her boyfriend may have had - happy, sad, horrific. It was a selfish thing to do, but at this point she didn't care. She wanted to help Vayne remember his past, too. That included the good and the bad parts to it.

"Yeah I did but it was pretty brief." He could tell how exicted she was causing him to smile back. He'd take her hands smiling still as he looked back into her eyes now. At her request he simply nodded back squeezing her hands gently now. "I had just joined the academy. Jade was bragging as usual and made me cry. That's bout it nothing major really." He chuckled lightly looking back into her eyes now. He had made little progress but not much. Good or bad a memory was a memory and something to be treasured. Takara had told him that on their last date and he had held the advice close to his heart like anything she said or did with him. Making new memories with her made him feel a lot better at the end of the day and that's what mattered the most to him.
"What about you? Have you remembered anything at all? He'd frown slightly squeezing her hands gently for comfort again. Lately only he had made any progress with his amnesia. Takara hadn't shown any signs of whether she had or not. She didn't seem to care much so long as she had him. Still it had to be a little disheartening to deal with. Maybe it was for the best in the end. Her mind could just be protecting her frail innocent mind from a terrible revelation that might devastate or crush her spirit. Whatever the case he would be there to support her through thick and thin. Like a faint light in the darkness he would be there to guide her so she wouldn't get lost like she did for him now.

"Wow, Vayne," Takara began, almost speechless. "I'm so happy for you." It was amazing, she thought, that he was able to remember even the tiniest sliver of a memory. He was also lucky enough to have some remaining family to help fill in his missing pieces. She, on the other hand, was not nearly as lucky. Her mind was like finding a piece of hay in a needle stack - or whatever that saying was.
At the mention of her own progress, however, she subconsciously pulled away - a reaction she had grown accustomed to at the mention of her own amnesia. It was disheartening, especially the constant reminder from doctors that her memories might never return. She tried to stay positive, but it had been over a two months since had left the hospital and she had still made absolutely no progress.
"You know you would have been the first person to know if I had," Takara responded after a moment, a sudden darkness taking over persona. It was like a cloud drifting in, blocking out all of her hopes and aspirations. She rarely ever felt this hopeless, but when it hit, it hit hard. "This isn't getting any easier for me. If I was going to remember anything at all, something should have happened by now! I - I don't think I can deal with just living life here idly much longer. I don't know what to do Vayne."

"I-I'm sorry for bringing it up Takara." He'd grab her hands again and squeeze gently a few times. He knew it was a more sour subject for her than it was for him. It was very disheartening not knowing who you were or where you came from. He wanted her to find out he truely did but he was afraid he wouldn't like what she found out and that it might break her. The last thing he wanted was to lose her too like everything else. So long as he had her his condition was easy to deal with and manage. He liked who he had became because of her and he owed everything to her.
"I know Takara I know. You want life to have more meaning than just waking up everyday and wandering around aimlessly when your not with me. I understand I truely do." Thinking of her possible past now he sighed lightly squeezing her hands again. Was it possible she had been a ninja of some sort or possibly a nukenin? So many possibilities to think of but in the end only she could truely know once she remembered. Then there was that bastard Zero. He seemed to know who she really was or might be but it wasn't a real good idea facing him right now.
"I could train you. Teach you how to tap into your chakra and use some jutsus. Who knows you might've been a ninja before so it might spark something. If not then I'll take you away from here to visit the world to see if something happens then. I-I just want you to be happy Takara you are my world you know that." He released her hands now and closed his eyes. Those days in Orochimaru's hideout had been hard and difficult. He had only survived and lived because of Azal. So many times he had almost ended it only to have Azal save him claiming he simply needed him but he knew there was more to Azal's methods then he let on.

Takara wasn't angry per se, she was more frustrated than anything. She knew that Vayne was being as helpful and supportive as he could, and she could never thank him enough for that, but even that wasn't enough sometimes. She squeezed his hands back, finding the motion comforting, because despite everything, she still had Vayne.
"I'm just being selfish," she said after a while. She had an amazing life here in Konoha; it wasn't exactly perfect, but it was pretty damn close. She had a home, friends, and could pretty much get ahold of anything she wanted within reason. Hell, she should just be happy with being alive because she would have been dead without help from the village.
Takara, however, thought she had stumbled upon a great idea - being proactive about her life. If her memories weren't going to come back by themselves then she would just have to chase them down herself. And what better place to start than in Konoha - she could try training right here. "You're always right, Vayne. And you always know what to say to make me happy. When can we start my training?"

He knew she wasn't angry just really frustrated. Anyone in their position would be so it was understandable. Being denied what you sought the most really hurt and crushed one's spirit but he found holding onto something precious like friendship and love really helped to ease the pain somewhat. It made things seem less bleak and more hopeful. He could see a brighter future ahead for himself and Takara there with him. It'd take awhile to get there but one day he felt they would. The thought caused him to smile softly squeezing Takara's hands gently again. He'd often daydreamed about his future with her having a family and more but he'd never tell her that right. No he just wanted to enjoy the here and now right now and take life one day at a time.
"Well your happiness means more to me than anything Takara-chan." He'd pause at her last question simply smiling softly pulling her down a little so he could capture her lips with a few quick kisses before standing himself now. "Right now if you want. If not well first thing tomorrow morning then." He'd pause again planting a few more quick kisses on her lips again. Once he pulled back she'd see he bore a more serious expression now as he continued holding her hands still. He wasn't going to sugarcoat things for a change no he'd just be blunt and tell the truth. "The training wont be easy. It'll probably take you many tries to get it right but I'll be there to help you all the way so don't get disheartened if you fail a lot at first. I'll start out with easy stuff and work my way up. The key to learning all of this is to just be patient." He'd smile softly and nodded to her before kissing her forehead lightly.

Takara couldn't help but smile as Vayne pulled her in for a kiss. Without a doubt, she thought he was the most perfect being in existence, and she was lucky enough to have him to herself. Well, mostly to herself; she did have to share him with his family and other friends. A girl could dream, though.
She happily returned each kiss, pouting slightly when he pulled away to stand up. At the mention of starting her training right now, however, she perked up again. "I really hope you know the answer to that already," she said playfully, with regards to when they would begin. Obviously right now.
Takara nodded her head to Vayne's next explanation, though, she wasn't really paying attention due to her excitement. Besides, she had a wishful thinking feeling that it wouldn't be too hard for her to catch on to this ninja thing very quickly. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's just get started now! If I try hard enough I'll be able to do anything!"

"Heh I suppose I do Takara-chan. Your mind is set already determined and set roaring to go. Now's a better time than any." He smiled chuckling lightly at Takara's enthusiasm. She could get so excited sometimes over the littlest of things. He then poked her nose lightly He could tell she was only half paying attention now her excitement getting the better of her like that night in the park. She'd been so excited they'd started going out after his promises of dedication and helping her. He smiled running a hand through his hair now.
"Okay okay I hear you. Knowing you you'll get it down quick. Your smart Takara-chan so I know you can do it." He then scratched his head a little wondering where he should start. The easiet thing would be to start with the transformation technique. Then he'd try the clone technique with her. "Alright so it's all about the handsigns really. We'll start with the transformation technique." He then brought his hands together and slowly showed her the handsigns before doing it once more only faster and in a poof of white smoke he transformed into Takara the only slight distinction was his eye color. He smirked and then changed back to himself. "Now your turn Takara-chan."

When Vayne actually began explaining the technique, Takara finally started to pay attention. She listen to his every word, taking in each one carefully to make sure she understood his instructions. She nodded her head to show that she was ready and copied the hand movements that he had just done. This is all I have to do to be like a ninja? Jeez, they act like it's so difficult.
Nothing happened, so Takara waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, she huffed and angrily put her hands on her hips, "Why isn't this working?! I did everything exactly the same as you!"
She stomped her foot into the ground to emphasize her point. She had done every step the same as Vayne, she was sure of it! However, when she did the hand signs, there was no poof of smoke and definitely no transformation. She began to wonder how good of a teacher her boyfriend was going to be. "Are you sure you're explaining this right?"

Vayne blinked as he watched her attempt only to find nothing happened. Scratching his head lightly now he closed his eyes ignoring her tantrum as he tried running back what he had shown her and what she had done. The only thing he could assume was she lacked chakra control and thus was unable to do anything. "You did everything right Takara I just left out the basic principle. Without chakra control there's not much you can do. We'll have to work on that first then." He nodded a bit hands on his hips now. He then looked to the tree and smirked. He then approached it and planting a foot on it started walking up it now before standing on a branch overlooking Takara now.
"Simple really." He then jumped down landing beside Takara with a light thud. Standing again he stretched a little and then smiled at Takara. "Chakra control is all in the mind. Chakra comes from within you. You gotta focus hard and pull it out. Try running at that tree like I did and when you go to run up it focus and try imagining your feet sticking to it. When you can reach the top of the tree then your ready to try other stuff." Sounded simple enough but actually doing it was another story and he doubted Takara would get it her first try but with focus and determination she was bound to get it eventually no matter how long it took.

Takara's jaw dropped when Vayne oh so casually walked up the tree. He made look so easy! It was as if he was walking down a straight road - simple, as he said himself. She had agreed to his explanation about chakra control, but she wasn't so sure that walking up a tree would help her.
She realized that her mouth was still open when Vayne landed safely back on the ground and quickly closed it. Takara knew that ninja could perform amazing feats, but walking up trees was not one of the many things that she had imagined. She gulped at the task that had been handed to her and stared up at the towering mammoth of a tree.
Takara trusted Vayne, so she closed her eyes a took a deep breath. She did as he instructed, focusing on reflecting inward to pull out her chakra. She began to run at the tree at a tentative pace, imagining her feet sticking to the tree and then climbing all the way to the very top. However, just before she reached the trunk, she stopped.
Looking over her shoulder sheepishly, she questioned, "Uhh before I try this for real, I think it would be best if you told me more about this chakra stuff." She had felt so motivated just a few moments ago, but she couldn't shake the feeling that she was missing something.

Vayne chuckled a bit having seen Takara's mouth drop. She had obviously not expected he to walk up a tree like that. Having amnesia well he couldn't real blame her for being so surpised anything he did was bound to shock or surprise her right now luckily Azal had managed to retain his memories of training and skills which was why he had only partial amnesia and not fullblown like Takara had. He crossed his arms as he stepped back to watch her attempt now. She seemed determined and ready to try this. He doubted she would get it the first try though. He watched as she started to run only to suddenly stop as she looked to him now asking for a further description of chakra first and so he simply nodded crossing his arms against his chest now. "Chakra is a form of energy all living individuals naturally produce to some degree. Contained in the chakra coils that mainly surround and connect to each chakra-producing organ, the energy circulates throughout the body in a network called the chakra circulatory system, similar to the cardiovascular system. Certain groups, such as ninja, have learned to generate more chakra and release it outside their bodies through their chakra points in order to perform special techniques or jutsu. Chakra is not normally visible to the human eye, though chakra can be seen in situations where a person releases as much of their chakra as possible. This is rarely seen due to the restrictions of certain chakra points like the Eight Gates, limiting the amount of chakra an individual can release at a single given time. Chakra can also be visible when doing a specific techniques such as the Rasengan which take a high degree of chakra control to perform."Vayne paused now to catch his breath running a hand through his hair now hoping Takara at least caught the gist of that so that he didn't have to repeat himself again. Of the many different types of techniques, ninjutsu, genjutsu, dōjutsu, and so on, all require the use of chakra. However, taijutsu is different, usually requiring no chakra use whatsoever; stamina is all that is needed. While the ninja still needs a set amount of chakra to live regular taijutsu doesn't require any active moulding or manipulation of chakra with few exceptions. A standard attack like a punch or kick falls into this technique category."Vayne would then go on explain to her about chakra control and how to pull the energy from her mind and body and mould them together and how to leave just enough for her to live. He would explain how to shape chakra and about the various unique chakras like the ones Jinnchuriki like Naruto Uzumaki posessed. That done he then collapsed onto the bench he had been sitting on before and leaned back against it. "If you can understand that then put it into practice on that tree. If you can climb the tree then you can do anything you put your mind to." He smirked and nodded at Takara smiling sheepishly now.
